Happy Halloween!

I posted my Jake and Heath story to several BBM communities. Also, I changed the title to A Simple Request.

A Simple Request – Part One

A Simple Request – Part Two

E – don’t shoot me. :-)

After years and years of reporting in for Jury Duty, they finally selected me for a trial. I’m not thrilled but one must do their duty to God and Country. My boss isn’t happy about it. We still have to finish the financial audit. We just moved into new office space and I have yet stepped inside my new office, one I will be sharing with no one unless something happens while I am away at jury duty. Man, I will be working plenty of overtime when the trial is over. They say it will be for a few days but if I had to go by the way they selected the jury, it may go on forever. (:-

I went to Borders today and purchased three books — “The Road” and “Blood Meridian” by Cormac McCarthy and, “Bad Dirt” by Annie Proulx. Bad Dirt is the sequel to Close Range: Wyoming Stories, which included Brokeback Mountain. I’ve heard Bad Dirt isn’t nearly as good as Close Range but I enjoy AP writing so I’m giving it a chance. First up is Blood Meridian because I’m way curious about Cormac McCarthy, the writer.

FireFox

Something is wrong with my FF browser. It keeps getting stuck at an entry on LJ. I wonder why this is happening?

I tried several new LJ themes. I loved the one from Style Contest, “The Road to October.” The colors are especially appealing, I like neutral colors. I also like Masala, one of the Bloggish’s themes with its glowing red links and header. My FF browser doesn’t like either one. The entry layout for the “The Road to October ” needs adjusting because the right side of an entry will cut off when inserting stuff like tables and images.

Anyone on my Flist knows CSS? Would appreciate info on how to adjust the width of the new LJ themes.

BSG: Exodus, Pt 2

Battlestar Galactica ROCKS!

Tigh shocked the hell out of me. All that talk about sending men out to war and it was his duty. He had to stir up trouble to cover Adama’s intention in rescuing his people. So what, a few people died in the process. It was their duty to the cause. But man, I never, ever would have thought he’d murder Ellen, his wife.

Tigh is going to be hurting for a very, very long time. He loved Ellen dearly even though she was a slut, a hell raiser, and betrayer to her people. I doubt people will remember she sold out to the Cylons because she wanted to save Tigh and she loved him dearly.

When Galactica dropped out of space to unload its fighters and immediately jumped back, I jumped up and yelled. For a TV series, BSG has grand special affects for a television series. The powers put it to good use, something so lacking in Stargate Atlantis. The Daedalus is a high maintenance space ship that looks pretty. Galactica will crash and burn, get ugly, and fight to its death.

Poor Kara fell in love with Kacy only to learn later, she was not the girls’ mother. I believed Leoben just like Kara and thought Kacy was a hybrid like Hera. Leoben, of course, didn’t see the damage he did to Kara. It was heart wrenching for Kara, watching that woman reclaiming her daughter, Kacy. Kara hates Leoben. I can’t even imagine her feelings for him now. You know they will meet again.

I like Helo and Sharon as a couple. Lee and Dee, not so much. There is no chemistry between these two actors. There is no passion between them like Tigh and Ellen had. They are like two people working a business contract.

So the cylons want to experience human emotion. They despise the human race for enslaving them and yet they want to act human. They are a contradiction to themselves.

Tomorrow is Friday the 13th. If you didn’t know, you know now. *cackling evilly*

I don’t feel so well. The body is trying to get use to the weather turning cold but the weather doesn’t have a clue to what it wants to do. Warm one day, cold the next. So I’ll suffer until it decides to go cold.

I’m at the point where I want to take a large chunk of the story I’m writing/editing and throw it to the winds.

I need a hot cup of Earl Grey tea.

Well, there goes the neighborhood. Google agrees to buy YouTube.

Wonder what’s gonna happened to all the great vids on YouTube.

Why must they mess with our fun. Sheesh!

LOVE LOVE

My Battlestar Galactica is back on tonight on Scifi at 9:00 pm. If there is a show out of all the shows on television that has my love, it’s BSG.

It satisfies my long standing love for science fiction and space travel. The love for alien characterizations and cultures. BSG is dark and that’s okay. The writing for this show is just awesome.

I purchased the last three episodes of Lost from S2 from itunes. And regret it. Lost is okay and sure the first few minutes of the premiere was interesting. I just don’t have the love for it the way I used to.

It’s dark, dreary, and miserable outside. Jenna’s long Jack and Ennis opus, Force of Nature, has been posted. I’ll be curling up real cozy for a good read until BSG comes on.

Tomorrow I will go back to editing my Jake/Heath RPS. Changing the tense to past. I’ve already deleted three pages I feel don’t really contribute a hell of a lot to the story.
