Number of things

Scott Wentworth (Prison Break) is adorable. He has this little boy persona that is so cute.

I’m back at work and free from jury duty. Although I wasn’t happy at first, I must say the process turned out to be very interesting. The law is complicated, contradictory, setup to cover a wide spectrum of issues to use to determine the innocence or guilty nature of the defendant. The burden of proof does lie with the prosecutor and, unfortunately, the case had insufficient evidence.

Amazon Short offered this particular gay story, so I purchased it for .49 cents. What was interesting is the dynamic of gay men dating. I figured men are men, gay, straight, orientation doesn’t matter. Men usually think first with the thing between their legs, instead of with the thing on top of their heads.

Despite the faghag comments and the ten year rule a young gay man supposedly use to judge a partner worthy of his time, gay men want traditions like old fashion values such as dating and getting to know each other before they get intimate. They are just as concern of the affect of slipping between the sheets before the communication and seeing if the other is more than a one night stand.

Interesting.

Yeah I voted and…

That was the best thing happening to me today.

Firstly, my boss is not a happy camper. I called and gave him an update on my jury service. He tells me to have a relaxing day. WTF. It wasn’t so much what he said as much as how he said it as though I’m playing hooky from work. Who in hell would have a relaxing day when you are part of the process in determining the rest of someone else’s life.

Secondly, deliberation can’t end until we reach a unanimous vote. Twelve people in the group that include one particular stubborn person. I can’t go into details but the bottom line is this. This person refused to state why they’d voted the way they did when it’s clear most of us have presented reasoning to re-think the vote.

I’m going to be stuck in this room with these folks forever at this rate.

Argh!

And You Are

One of the things I miss most here at this LJ is my fandom name. It’s been with me for years so I decided to use it on this LJ because that’s who I am in fandomland. Hello, I am Nicci.

[info] bbm_phoenix is a new Brokeback Mountain fiction community. It was developed as a continuum to the original Cuddlefix website which now has its own LJ community. The layout there is gorgeous. The details are very organized. Makes me wonder why I purchased another domain and webhost service when I could’ve archived my stories here at LJ in a separate journal for free. Can’t teach an old dog new tricks, huh.

I did, however, find this beautiful template I’m going to use at my new website, which needs development. I guess that’s one way of appeasing my sensibility for spending money unnecessarily.
