And You Are

One of the things I miss most here at this LJ is my fandom name. It’s been with me for years so I decided to use it on this LJ because that’s who I am in fandomland. Hello, I am Nicci.

[info] bbm_phoenix is a new Brokeback Mountain fiction community. It was developed as a continuum to the original Cuddlefix website which now has its own LJ community. The layout there is gorgeous. The details are very organized. Makes me wonder why I purchased another domain and webhost service when I could’ve archived my stories here at LJ in a separate journal for free. Can’t teach an old dog new tricks, huh.

I did, however, find this beautiful template I’m going to use at my new website, which needs development. I guess that’s one way of appeasing my sensibility for spending money unnecessarily.

So you still miss Nicci? Shame you had to delete it then.
I think it is better to have your stories hosted somewhere else. Maybe you remember how awkward everything was when the MandC archive vanished out of the blue. Could happen any time, anywhere.

Since you are at dreamhost, I thought you might like the link to the Dreamhost Feed.

    Added Dreamhost Flist. Thanks.

Yes, I miss my Nicci, more the name than anything else. It’s like a nickname only for fandom. For some reasons, Ilysah just doesn’t sit that well with me. There’re times I think “Ilysah, who?” :-)

Look at what happened this weekend with LJ outage and communities can come and go. I know you’re right about having someplace else to host stories. I haven’t done anything with the new site except put up a few stories. I’m pretty excited about the new template, though. Just need time for designing a layout.
