Witchblade TV series

Guess what I received for a X-mas present. A root canal. Yay!!

I think my poor dentist was in shock considering I was just there four months ago for a routine checkup and he apparently missed something along the way. Pet Dentist. He’s too adorable for me to get upset with and he was very generous to me during difficult times.

[info] 100_situations is back online. It means I’m back to thinking on JG. < ------ sounds perverted.

Supernatural is off for the next two weeks. I needed something to take its place. Putting up my website reminded me of the Witchblade TV series. So I pulled out a tape and started watching the pilot for the show.

Oh how I enjoyed the Witchblade. I love seeing females in media that are strong, independent, don't take sh*t from anybody. Sara was that kind of character. Too bad the series burned out quickly the second season.

Witchblade gave me the opportunity to explore a subject that I know hit some people squick feelings. Rape. Writing the story was painful because my rational brain kept voicing itself. Told me rape is nothing to be glorified and this wasn’t right. And I pushed thinking this is Witchblade, a show full of mysticism and fantasy. Real world values weren’t welcome.

Ian Nottingham was a character I held such sympathy for. He was an assassin, raised by and abused by Irons, who later turned out to be his real father. He grew up without love, low self-esteem, with an obedience to Irons that was unnatural and unmanly. I brought Jake and Ian together through violence.

There are writers in fandom that would have written a better story but it still made me feel good. I fought through my comfort zone.

Bleek, @#$$%!

There is no other way around it. I wish I could just frigging walk away. I can’t. Dammit.

I’ve just finished uploading my stories to my new site. Created a simple design to avoid headaches later. The colors, you know, are weird (it’s me remember.) LOL. But they won’t burn out your eyes. I would love ppl on my Flist checking it out and letting me what you think. Um, you can say, Ilysah, what the hell were you drinking because my color scheming is bad. Just ask my poor put upon son.

Now here’s the situation. I went to my old site to delete it. Dammit, you readers, my CSI Imagine archive is active. Very active, despite not updating it since 2005. I feel guilty deleting it and walking away and, have a sense of obligation to the authors who have archived their stories there.

So back to the drawing board. Pay the old host for a few more months while I learn how to install an automated archive, then move CSI Imagine over to my new host. I have plenty of space at my new host. I hate paying twice for the same damn thing.

Greetings

Weird Happenings

[info] esteven received your card. It was lovely. thank you. Watch your inbox in the next few days.

My hubby is jumping up and down. His football team won and, gosh, the man is exuberant. I say joy to him, he deserves it. His team performed poorly this year and he was like this sad, pathetic person who had lost his best friend or something. Gee. It’s only football.

Strange happenings – the journal for two of the communities I belonged to have been suspended. One in particular is 100_situations, a fan fic challenge community. Scratching my head. I can’t even begin to fathom why this account was suspended.

Apocalyptica

I love this group. Love their music. I actually found two communities on LJ for Apocalyptica, one with fan fiction, which isn’t all that good but still.

Perttu Kivilaakso, Eicca Toppinen, Paavo Lotjonen, and Max Lilja who is no longer with the group.

If anyone is interested in hearing classical cellos playing metal rock, let me know. I have the Inquisition Symphony CD.

Yes, E. This is all your fault. I blame you with the utmost pleasure for a great recommendation.

One Year and Still Hot

Such as with bad timing, I caught the ending of the movie, October Sky, starring a very young JakeyG. So young, in fact, his face is shaped full and square with the same sad, doe eyes.

Jake today seems awfully skinny. The picture below is somewhere between the youngin Jake and the skinny Jake.

December marks the one year anniversary of Brokeback Mountain film, which aired in selected theaters. LJ communities maybe be quiet for now but at DC, it’s roaring with activity and postings. I can’t keep up.
