Guess what I received for a X-mas present. A root canal. Yay!!
I think my poor dentist was in shock considering I was just there four months ago for a routine checkup and he apparently missed something along the way. Pet Dentist. He’s too adorable for me to get upset with and he was very generous to me during difficult times.
100_situations is back online. It means I’m back to thinking on JG. < ------ sounds perverted.
Supernatural is off for the next two weeks. I needed something to take its place. Putting up my website reminded me of the Witchblade TV series. So I pulled out a tape and started watching the pilot for the show.
Oh how I enjoyed the Witchblade. I love seeing females in media that are strong, independent, don't take sh*t from anybody. Sara was that kind of character. Too bad the series burned out quickly the second season.
Witchblade gave me the opportunity to explore a subject that I know hit some people squick feelings. Rape. Writing the story was painful because my rational brain kept voicing itself. Told me rape is nothing to be glorified and this wasn’t right. And I pushed thinking this is Witchblade, a show full of mysticism and fantasy. Real world values weren’t welcome.
Ian Nottingham was a character I held such sympathy for. He was an assassin, raised by and abused by Irons, who later turned out to be his real father. He grew up without love, low self-esteem, with an obedience to Irons that was unnatural and unmanly. I brought Jake and Ian together through violence.
There are writers in fandom that would have written a better story but it still made me feel good. I fought through my comfort zone.
