I don’t know this person personally, only through her fandom writings for which she is still very involved. I want to say congrats for being nominated for the Hugo Award. A woman among men. I found out about it searching for information on the Flesch-Kincaid readability scoring. Ironic huh.
It makes my heart swell to gladness to know one of our own has risen to such heights in the professional writing world. It makes me cackle with glee to know she doesn’t deny her relationship to fandom and how it has helped with her writing.
I just had to give a well and meaningful shout out.
You would be talking about Naomi Novik, yes?
Indeed, to be nominated is a wonderful achievement.:D
Yes I am. I wasn’t sure about the net-etiquette, so I left her name out of my post. Isn’t it awesome! I’m reading the first book in the series.
Oh, Naomi Novik is fine (her fan name would be iffy. ;D). I adore the three books and I had been pleased to read that Peter Jackson picked up the rights to the trilogy.
One has to like Lawrence and Téméraire. Isn’t the dragon adorable?
*grabs pen and paper* What did she write?
Hey You! What’s cooking?
I’ll do you one better. Here’s the link to her books.

His Majesty’s Dragon is the first book in a series of three.
Oh that’s wonderful. I’m big fan of PJ LOTR. I wouldn’t dare mentioned the fan name without permission. I’m on the first few pages of the first book where the egg has just been discovered. Oh, I know you adore the books. They supposedly have shades of POB style of writing.

I’ll put it on my list, for when I got some more time and money.
