According to the news on TMZ, Heath Ledger apparently had been ill with pneumonia when he passed away.   The idea that he may had committed suicide is unbearable and I refuse to buy in this theory without proof.  He was young, had a full life ahead of him, and a career that was getting better with better choices in role offers. He adored his daughter, Matilda.  I have to believe the cause of his death was either accidental or by natural causes.
May he rest in peace.

I hope they will find out. Any shadow of doubt, in any direction will hurt his daughter, friends and family even more than the truth. Even though I did not follow him closely, I was sad because he had shown such promise and had already developed much.

this was my first thought, too, when I heard there were spilled pills on the floor next to him. not ‘omg overdose’, but ‘maybe he was just trying to get his pills when he had a coughing fit or something’. you know, if you’re overdosing on pills you don’t spill them all around you. either you take them all, or they leave you with enough time to screw the top back on before they start working. in any case, I’d rather believe it was sickness, too.
I don’t know, E. Some stories are starting to surface about drugs. No matter, I adored him as an actor and was quite familiar with his movies long before I discovered Jake. He will be missed.
I have the impression, the pills were not scattered everywhere. Seems like his body just gave out on him, and yes, drugs may have been involved over the long haul. The news is reporting the autopsy won’t be available for another ten days. I’m not sure I want to know the results.

I am sure any drug found were prescribed and not illegal. I was gald to hear that his family is taking him home, where I hope he will find rest.
I was angry to hear that some idiots had announced they would be picketing his funeral and I hope that this will not be possible in Australia.
