Almost Done

I have accomplished in a few hours, setting up and moving files to this site, what I couldn’t do with EE and Textpattern.  It took three tries of importing my files from my other WP site.  WordPress, however, certainly spoils a person.  If I was a web designer involved in developing client CMS websites, I would give Textpattern a whirl.   I like the interface, setup, the easily understandable code they use to execute the application.

Next up:

  1. Transferring the image files over this gallery.  Groan.  What a job.  Not even sure if it’s worth the effort.  There are other sites out there with great media screencaps for tv shows and films.
  2. Setting up navigational link structure, and then transfer my stories from the other site.

Hopefully, once I have settled here at my new domain, I will not be moving anytime soon.  Of course, changing the skin to this site is like having a dose of chocolate candy.  Sweet and nice.

Technology

Part curiosity about CMS systems and being anal on managing two WP applications, I began playing around with CMS systems.

It bugs me each time WP releases a newer version I have to upgrade twice. So, I set out to test EE, which blew my mind. Even though I have basic skill level in html and little to nothing in CSS, and zilch in php, I thought I would do fine with EE. Go ahead and laugh. Hah, after a week, I gave up on EE. Heroes: The Eclipse

Did anything important occur on Heroes tonight? I am not so sure. After last week’s episode, which I thought was good, comparing to previous episodes, I feel tonight was a big let down.

The eclipse appeared; the heroes lose their powers. Claire is shot in the shoulder during the fight with Elle and Sylar. She feels the pain and takes joy in it. Nathan and Peter argue about daddy dearest. Peter has lost respect for Nathan because he’s daddy’s puppet. Nathan tries to re-establish himself as the big brother by putting Peter down, treating him like a kid. Peter’s ideas are simply no good to Nathan. Nathan has better ones even though Peter thought of the right choice. Elle and Sylar kiss as if we didn’t see that coming.

The entertainment factor is Hiro, the ten years old child in a man’s body. Actually, the interaction between Hiro, Matt, and Ando was the best scenes tonight. At least we discover when Daphne’s loses her power, her true self is a paraplegic.

To it all I say “so what.”

I would’ve loved to learn something about Claire as the catalyst. What does it means to all concerns.

I guess we will have to wait until next week.

Smallville: Abyss

What a surprise! Smallville Season 8 is turning out pretty good episodes. Even without Lex, and I do miss him on the show. Who knew losing Lex and Lana would open the imagination of the writers, finally, achieving the goal of turning Smallville!Clark into Superman!Clark.

While Heroes on Monday night played the revisionist card, Smallville hit the reset button. I am enjoying Smallville so much better than Heroes. Who knew.

Chloe’s mind is slowly being taken over by Brainiac, who is eradicating Chloe’s memories, one friend at a time. To Jimmy’s horror, he who already suffers many insecurities about his relationship with Chloe, discovers she doesn’t remember him, doesn’t remember they are to be married the following week. At least he understands, this lost isn’t focused on just Jimmy. Chloe doesn’t remember her best friend, Lana, either.

Write or Die!

This is a really cool tool for writers who find excuses to not write. Write or Die, a web application. Set your goals, go write, and work against preset indicators to avoid punishment.

Love the concept!

Write or Die

Hopeless

I must admit, I’m totally hopeless when it comes to selecting and keeping a theme. Maybe this one will last longer than a day or two.
