Site Update

I have a new theme.  I hope I haven’t interfered much with viewing the latest screencaps on my site.  I don’t have the equipment to make changes offsite.  This is a fandom loving site, maintained by me, who loves films, shows, and books and the discussions thereof.  Forgive the inconvenience and the appearance of unprofessionalism.

The old theme (which I still love,) caused me to manipulate posts to fit them within the structure of the theme.  The process is broken and you will find many posts without the thumbnail pictures, posts written in the LJ journal environment, which doesn’t quite fit here.  They are readable.  I wish I could fix them.  But, it isn’t a good idea to re-post content due to site ranking and such.

The good news, I fixed the RSS feed.  So anyone subscribing to this site will see full post content including images in the feed.  This theme will force me to focus on the type of entries posted here.

There is still a problem with strange characters in the posts.  It happened when I upgraded the site to multisite.  Will find a solution.  I really hate those characters distorting the content.

If you see anything broken, tell me where.  You like the new theme, tell me.  You have suggestions, would love to hear them.  Part of the fun with having your own blog is the ability to share.

Caprica 1×12 – The Brilliance of Zoey Graystone

Don’t you know there’s written software that was used decades ago.  You write a great program.  It can outlive you.  It’s like a work of art.  …Maybe Zoey was an artist.  Maybe her work will live on. – Nestor, Season 1.0 Rebirth

Cap1.12_00140

We know where this code harkens back to Kobol.  The people of Kobol initiated the first resurrection and created the first existence of Cylon species.  How Sister Clarice obtains the code is not nearly as important as how she manages to influence and tap into Zoey’s brains.  To guide her to further develop the resurrection program Nestor so obviously and admits he doesn’t have the ability to manipulate.  Without this code, Sister Clarice proposal made to the religious committee on Genmenon is dead in the water.

Zoey is brilliant.

Whatever you may think of Daniel and Amanda Graystone, they did something right.  They produced a brilliant child, who was once loving then turned hostile.

In Caprica’s Things We Lock Away, we see flashbacks to R-Zoey as young and gullible child ready to please her father.  She is the designer of the robots, not Daniel Graystone.  He just rips off his daughter’s ideas and uses them for his own benefits.  R-Zoey is the one who creates life beyond the R-world, therefore, establishing the ability to clone a perfect copy of oneself.  I think if she had lived long enough, she would’ve figured out the way to bring her virtual self into the real world.

Her inspiration is Head-Zoey, another messenger or angel we first meet in Battlestar Galactica.  Head-Zoey has an agenda.  She uses it to guide R-Zoey with snippet of ideas.  She noted Daniel’s self-aggrandizement and that his attention to his daughter is when he wants her ideas.  Later, I think this idea will foster, propel R-Zoey into resentment and disagreements with her parents and lead her directly into Sister Clarice’s hands.  Head-Zoey also inspires V-Zoey to become a separate entity from R-Zoey.  R-Zoey is dead.  V-Zoey should not carry the weight of sins and guilt of the Zoey who no longer exist.

This episode establishes what will ultimately become the skinjobs in the future.  Each copy will have the physical attributes, thoughts, memories, and emotions of the prototype and yet have free will to act and think differently from the original prototype.

We discover R-Zoey blocked V-Zoey access to the resurrection program.  V-Zoey may not have all of the R-Zoey’s knowledge.  Perfect copy with restrictions.  This lack of information that will become the impetus to drive Sister Clarice and Daniel Graystone to their goals.  V-Zoey and V-Tamara will be right there in the middle of it.

Caprica Ep 1.12 – TWLA Screencaps

Things We Lock Away Screencaps Cap1.12_00072 Cap1.12_00064 Cap1.12_00144 Cap1.12_00306 Cap1.12_00468 I sort of made a promise to not produce so many screencaps.  Try keeping the number about 250 or less. For BSG, I felt I went overboard.  In some cases the number of caps I archived on my site was well over 350. Well, I did it again.  I generated 420 TWLA screencaps.  You can find the rest at this link. . Things We Locked Away

Caprica Retribution

Sister Clarice walks through the alleyway with her minion behind her, umbrella up protecting her dark hair and piercing eyes from the rain.

The image of Laura Roslin pops immediately to the mind. Her minions are the military, marching through the aisles of Battlestar Galactica. She is smaller in stature compared to Clarice, but of similar coloring. Laura too has those piercing eyes. Through them is a soul of a fanatic.

Laura Roslin does not hesitate to kill for the protection of the greater good. Sister Clarice will destroy for her religion. Kill without hesitation and much thought to achieve their goals, which makes being in their heads a very scary place to be.

Cap1.11_00359 Amanda has gone through a slight change in Caprica Retribution. She has finally shaken off the mantle of flakiness and irrationality. Has learned to wait and observe, to consider information without jumping to extraordinary conclusions. She realized shooting Clarice would not suffice and I think she now knows there’s a bigger stake involved surrounding Clarice and supposed friendship. When the time comes when she learns of Clarice’s part in her daughter’s death, there will be consequences.

The females in Battlestar Galactica and Caprica are some of the toughest on television. Admirable in their dedications. Immoral to the extent that life is of no importance if it impedes to desire results. For Laura, cylons were simply machines. For most viewers of BSG, we’ve come to realized cylons may have been built as machine but in effect, the skinjobs were just as human as any human existing in the 12 colonies.

Laura’s one redeeming quality, she didn’t destroy Hera.

Sister Clarice is a thug and terrorist through and through. A representation of history throughout time of religious fanaticism that destroyed human life for the sake of religion. How Sister Clarice will fair is yet to be told.

In the dark corner of friendship sits a mother waiting, watching, and learning, and the least likely suspect of retribution.
