OOPS! Google Buzz & the FTC

The Feds charged Google with deceptive privacy practices in how they rolled out Google Buzz. As part of the settlement, Google must implement a privacy program and independent auditors will audit the program over the next 20 years.

Google apologizes here.

You know what really bothered me, hearing the parents of Caroline Wimmer on the news yesterday. They are suing quite a few people including Facebook. Apparently, former Paramedic Mark Musarella snapped a photo of their daughter’s dead body on his cell phone and posted it to Facebook. The parents want the picture removed from the social network.

Facebook does not get a cookie for maintaining legal rights in this case. Why don’t they just take the moral high ground and remove the picture. It’s the right thing to do.

 

PL Nunn’s Smallville Fiction

I don’t know how you feel about fan fiction.  Personally, I love it.  Well, it’s obvious since I do on an occasion write fanfiction.  There are some gorgeous fanfiction writers in fandom.  Some have the talent to write professionally.  They can take their ideals of the characters from the original source and bring them to life.

PL Nunn is one of those writers.  This writer’s Smallville stories are fantastic.  It’s mostly slash of the Clark/Lex pairing.  It’s definitely more than erotica.  These stories contain well-written characters that are recognizable from the original source.  They are plotted with action, conflict, and of course, romance.  PL Nunn’s Lex voice is awesome.

Readers of MM Romance might enjoy and might want to try PL Nunn Smallville fiction.  I would start with this series, Reciprocation, Give and Take, Quality Time, and the latest story in the series, Emergence.

Life Was So Simple

Viewing my webmaster tools, Google was kind of enough to show I need to work on my website, mostly to clean up long URLS and some strange URL formats I have no idea how they were created.  I think this is the result of importing my journal entries from Livejournal.

Just think I started this blog because of LJ Strikethrough and the hoops they were putting us through.  Life was so simple before.

I’ve been doing quite of bit of reading. The pleasurable and entertaining kind in the genre of MM Romance. M/M Romance is a sub-genre of  the Romance genre and I think it has been in existence for the past few years. I love books. I love reading. All kinds actually, except for horror, which to say to my own horror includes quite a few how to writing books.

I have a lot of catching up to do. The discussions of Ron Moore’s new and upcoming show, 17th Precinct is hot. The source of his casting is fun but not unexpected. Then there is my DVR waiting patiently for me to watch the recorded shows of Nikita, Fringe (Did I tell you I love Fringe,) and several others.

Needless to say, 04/29/2011 is my date of choice. Yes, there will be a new Dom and Brian movie. Come on, baby. Fast and Furious five.
