The Feds charged Google with deceptive privacy practices in how they rolled out Google Buzz. As part of the settlement, Google must implement a privacy program and independent auditors will audit the program over the next 20 years.
You know what really bothered me, hearing the parents of Caroline Wimmer on the news yesterday. They are suing quite a few people including Facebook. Apparently, former Paramedic Mark Musarella snapped a photo of their daughter’s dead body on his cell phone and posted it to Facebook. The parents want the picture removed from the social network.
Facebook does not get a cookie for maintaining legal rights in this case. Why don’t they just take the moral high ground and remove the picture. It’s the right thing to do.
