Caprica: There Is Another Sky

Was that Caprica? I thought I had dropped into a Matrix movie without Trinity’s kickass fight scenes. Neo would’ve approved and loved it. Switch between two worlds, V-world and R-world, on a dime. Do away with depending on someone to push the button on the other side before getting thrashed by the bad guys.

Awesome. But… this is not Matrix and this show is definitely not BSG.

Last night’s episode, There Is Another Sky, officially establish Caprica as a stand-alone series not to be confused with BSG.

Of course, there are themes in Caprica that relate to BSG such as the ideas of the One-True-God and the Cylons, which are good for us die-hard BSG fans still with questions. I suspect Caprica will have some answers. But, a large part of this show is about the disaffected younger generation that has taken technology to a very scary place. Where there are no-holds-barred to do anything you want without suffering the consequences. And believe me; the consequence would require heavy payments, like a hundred years in jail for committing terrible and horrendous things these kids are doing in the V-world.

Syfy Stands Behind Caprica

Reading this article makes me a very happy camper.

Syfy Standing Firmly Behind Caprica

This should quiet down the question of cancellation.

Quite frankly, I’m enjoying Caprica as for once I’m going into a brand new show without having to catch-up on missed episodes as I did with the first season BSG.

BSG aired on a Friday’s nights, which was a winding down time for me from a full week of work. Some of the episodes were slow in kicking up the amp. Many a times I fell asleep only to wake up toward end to kick myself. It became evident I’d missed something important or spectacular. Therefore, I would watch the second airing of the episode.

No such thing for Caprica. I have the same if not more grueling work schedule, but I’m all there for Caprica from the beginning to the end. Perhaps, it’s because BSG has trained me well. Do not sleep or you might miss something. I want to be right there at the first airing

Will Caprica Survive Cancellation

Because of declining ratings, is Caprica in jeopardy of being cancelled? This article implies that and the word is spreading over at twitterland with a cry to keep Caprica alive.

Caprica: The Adama Family

We has snow. A whole lot of it. I’m in no mood to dig myself out after watching this man and his friend attempt to shovel snow knee deep high. They finally gave up, man, because they aren’t going anywhere. The depth of the snow told them so.

Caprica is getting very good. I think I went through what a lot of BSG fans have gone through. Universe mindset switch off. This is not Battlestar Galactica. We will not see the same kind of breath taking, must live or die kind of action. Caprica is about family. It’s about greed, teenage angst, money, grief, and so on.

However, I’m so loving Sam Adama, Bill Adama’s uncle. Who knew Bill Adama came from a criminal background. LOL. As Willie, he’s a sweet kid, grieving for the lost of mom and sister. Uncle Sam is taking up the slack while daddy, Joseph grieves. Uncle is teaching Willie the criminal aspects of surviving. It’s a wonder Bill Adama never networked his computers on Galactica.

Best part about Sam Adama besides his looks and being an assassin. He’s married. To a man. Glad to see this happening on Caprica.
