Battlestar Galactica Finds a New Home

bsg414_0112.JPGOy! I’m ecstatic. BBC America bought the rights to air Battlestar Galactica’s two-part miniseries, and the regular seasons, 1 through 4.

Battlestar Galactica is the best scifi show ever to appear on TV since the days of the Star Trek franchise. BSG, created by Ron Moore and company, is definitely the best of any reimagined series around today. It deserves to come alive again in TV land. For those who didn’t get to watch the series during the original airing, here’s is your opportunity. Mark your calendar.

The show will air on BBC America, Saturday, June 18.

Caprica 1×12 – The Brilliance of Zoey Graystone

Don’t you know there’s written software that was used decades ago.  You write a great program.  It can outlive you.  It’s like a work of art.  …Maybe Zoey was an artist.  Maybe her work will live on. – Nestor, Season 1.0 Rebirth

Cap1.12_00140

We know where this code harkens back to Kobol.  The people of Kobol initiated the first resurrection and created the first existence of Cylon species.  How Sister Clarice obtains the code is not nearly as important as how she manages to influence and tap into Zoey’s brains.  To guide her to further develop the resurrection program Nestor so obviously and admits he doesn’t have the ability to manipulate.  Without this code, Sister Clarice proposal made to the religious committee on Genmenon is dead in the water.

Zoey is brilliant.

Whatever you may think of Daniel and Amanda Graystone, they did something right.  They produced a brilliant child, who was once loving then turned hostile.

In Caprica’s Things We Lock Away, we see flashbacks to R-Zoey as young and gullible child ready to please her father.  She is the designer of the robots, not Daniel Graystone.  He just rips off his daughter’s ideas and uses them for his own benefits.  R-Zoey is the one who creates life beyond the R-world, therefore, establishing the ability to clone a perfect copy of oneself.  I think if she had lived long enough, she would’ve figured out the way to bring her virtual self into the real world.

Her inspiration is Head-Zoey, another messenger or angel we first meet in Battlestar Galactica.  Head-Zoey has an agenda.  She uses it to guide R-Zoey with snippet of ideas.  She noted Daniel’s self-aggrandizement and that his attention to his daughter is when he wants her ideas.  Later, I think this idea will foster, propel R-Zoey into resentment and disagreements with her parents and lead her directly into Sister Clarice’s hands.  Head-Zoey also inspires V-Zoey to become a separate entity from R-Zoey.  R-Zoey is dead.  V-Zoey should not carry the weight of sins and guilt of the Zoey who no longer exist.

This episode establishes what will ultimately become the skinjobs in the future.  Each copy will have the physical attributes, thoughts, memories, and emotions of the prototype and yet have free will to act and think differently from the original prototype.

We discover R-Zoey blocked V-Zoey access to the resurrection program.  V-Zoey may not have all of the R-Zoey’s knowledge.  Perfect copy with restrictions.  This lack of information that will become the impetus to drive Sister Clarice and Daniel Graystone to their goals.  V-Zoey and V-Tamara will be right there in the middle of it.

BSG: Who Created The Centurions and Cylons

Just who created the Centurions and the Cylons?  I was listening to RDM No Exit podcast and it got me to thinking.

The order of creation interpreted from the quote by RDM during his No Exit podcast.

Who are the Cylons

In Ron Moore’s No Exit podcast, he gives a monologue of a missing scene that will show up on the DVD. In that monologue is information about Kobol, Man, and Cylons.

This may be considered a spoiler, so be warned.
